Alex Weatherly, APRN

Alex Weatherly, APRN, brings more than two decades of nursing experience and a lifelong passion for caring for others to Carolina Pines Medical Group Primary Care. Surrounded by people from an early age - thanks to his mother’s home daycare and kindergarten - Alex discovered his calling in healthcare as a child. What began as a dream of becoming a pediatrician evolved into a deeply rooted commitment to caring for patients of all ages.

Alex began his career as an LPN in 2000 and steadily advanced through the nursing profession, earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 and his Master of Science in Nursing in 2016. His broad clinical background, combined with years of leadership in long‑term care and hospice settings, shaped his holistic, relationship‑driven approach to primary care.

Today, Alex is dedicated to helping patients understand their health, manage chronic conditions, and take meaningful steps toward a longer, healthier life. He believes education is one of the most powerful tools in medicine - whether he’s explaining a diagnosis, discussing nutrition and exercise, or guiding patients through treatment plans. His goal is always the same: to empower individuals to take ownership of their well‑being.

Outside the clinic, Alex enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cheering on local sports teams (especially Florence’s new hockey team) and coaching baseball, a role he’s proudly held for more than 15 years. He and his wife also love traveling and taking cruises together.
